Alibaba and SAIC Unveil Their First IoT Car in China

Alibaba recently announced the launch of its first IoT car in collaboration with SAIC Motor, according to China Times. The IoT car features a center informative system with touch screen and LCD (Liquid-Crystal Display) dashboard to demonstrate driving information. Furthermore, it runs on YunOS, Alibaba's self-developed operating system, which is able to integrate with its affiliate ANT Financial’ Alipay platform to help drivers reserve meals, find parking lots, and make direct payments. The car is priced from 14.88 RMB (USD99.40) to 18.68 RMB (USD124.78). Moreover, other Chinese companies such as Baidu and Tencent are also dedicated to developing IoT cars but are not ready for commercialization and mass production.
